When creating my art, I focus on style and always try to connect with the audience in a way that brings out their ‘true’ emotions.  I am always willing to try new and exciting challenges and innovate on my previous work, as I strive to create works that are different from the norm.  My career focus is on Graphic Design, such as poster and logo design, but in this field, often set into strict boundaries, I hope to innovate and create new and exciting ways to market products and services.  I have 2 previous internships of professional experience working in Graphic Design here at Bellarmine, one in the Bellarmine Nursing Department, and the other under the leadership of the Assistant Provost for Online and Innovative Learning.  At these internships I worked on poster designs, digital badge designs, a 3-D Bellarmine chess set, and various social media posts.  While design is my forte, in terms of my personal career I have entered the annual Bellarmine Student Art Show 2 separate years, one where I won the award for use of materials on my Ink and Graphite works, and the other where I formally received acceptance into the BecVar Artist in Residency Program.  I as well was recently accepted into the Early Entry Master’s program here at Bellarmine, studying a Master’s in Science and Digital Media.  I also work in my spare time on various character concept designs for a project I am steadily working towards publishing in the near future.  I hope my works inspire others to follow the same level of commitment to their craft as I do with my own artwork. - Erik Benvie

Recent Works

For my most recent works, I have been dabbling in character design and further fleshing out my skillset in that area. I am also currently working on my Artist Residency with Bellarmine called BecVar, where I am creating traditional works for the nursing department relating mythology and history to modern day nursing.
